How To Print (The Green Way)

Have you ever thought about ink cartridges? Did you know that the plastics inside of them will take over a thousand years to decompose? It's time to start recycling your empty ink cartridges. You can either have your ink cartridges re-filled yourself or give them to companies that will take them back for you (such as Staples). Also, if you do have a computer on campus you should really think about printing double sided. At least try and save scrap paper which you can re-feed through the printer later on. It's little things like this which can help.

  1. I love this idea! I use my printer constantly, and it wasn't until I got to school that I realized how much ink I went through. With constant use ink cartridges can begin to add up and get very expensive. I began to use the printers on campus because they automatically print double sided. Not only is it easier, but like you said saves paper. Great post!

  2. This is a great idea that my family and I have been doing for a long time. Actually if you join the staples rewards club you can turn in 3 cartridges a month for 3.00 each! While its not cold hard cash, its a staples gift certificate that can buy you supplies. Also if you have an hp printer like we do, when you buy refill ink cartridges they give an envelope that you can stick your old cartridge in and send it back to hp to take care of and recycle...FOR FREE. Thats just another way that big companies are going green although I know dell, lexxmark, and others dont do that.
